The War

The Bohtani War began in 1999, four years after Jelunia was overtaken by a military coup to overthrow the oppressive Communist regime. Jelunia's new, militant leaders wanted to expand their reach and global influence, and so they planned a largescale military campaign. Their first target was the Bufferzone nation of Bohtan. Jelunia's strengthened army invaded on Junith V, 1999. The unsuspecting nation was heavily devastated from the first assault, amassing an innocent death toll of over 3,000. Immediately, the international community -- including the recently formed Atonement of Harmony -- was outraged and demanded that Jelunia stop its conquest against Bohtan. However, several more weeks of annexations of conquered land brought on the retaliation of surrounding Bufferzone nations, which sent squadrons of their own armies to try and help Bohtan. The nation of Eulumia also sent aid to help the targeted nation. On Solmonath XI, 2000, the Atonement of Harmony sent a large army of accumulated soldiers from Domi Concordia and Primondia, as well as Eulumia, which regrouped and combined its forces, to help fight against the belligerent Jelunian Forces. Several weeks later, the Corporatocracy of Harbitros openly aided Bohtan by stationing a mobile headquarters in the nation and operating as a weapons supplier and logistics utility for all members of the Allied Forces. Legionnaire International also sold several contracts to Harbian soldiers for them operate on the battlefield as mercenaries by several of the Allied Forces. By late-2001, the war had been pushed back into Jelunia, and with the help of Jelunian insurgents springing up in many of eastern Jelunia's cities, their advantageous positions were undermined. Jelunia surrendered in 2002 and leaders were arrested by the Atonement of Harmony and tried for several warcrimes and human rights violations. Jelunia's government was reorganized by AoH, but ultimately by Harbian and Eulumian intervention.
