Gehenna's Maw is a large natural gas field on Baecca, in the Viscera desert. Its natural gas ventilates externally at high temperatures, causing fire and rock to melt, giving the appearance of a hellish portal. It was discovered and considered culturally sacrosanct by the Zabaeccan Empire several hundred years before Year 0. There is an ancient altar nearby the landmark, placed there by Zabaeccan architects, likely to worship Ashur or try to enter Gehenna, the underworld realm from Zabaeccan polytheism. Domi Concordia currently recognizes it as a tourist attraction and national landmark, and allows it to draw thousands of visitors every year.
