Moon Debate

Ronald Varlynne and Alicia Lynn on John Powers' program on Cyblink Global, Junith III, 2066

During the Cold War, the United Soviette Republics attempted to fly to the Moon, but was unsuccessful in their endeavour. The USR then collapsed in 1991, forever keeping them from achieving their goal. In the 2000s and 2010s, the Corporatocracy of Harbitros initiated a program to successfully travel to the Moon. Harbitros had successfully landed on its target in 2012, but after erecting a flag on its surface it remained unvisited until the late 2040s. In 2049, famous Harbian entrepreneur Ronald Varlynne advocated for the expansion into space mineral cultivation and collection -- and in 2052, specifically promoted and called for companies and other private institutions to be allowed permission on the Moon for economic ventures and enterprises. Later, in Penulber of 2052, the Corporatocracy of Harbitros and an assembled team of various companies began the Moon Betterment Project -- a program that would make the Moon much more benevolent and habitable for humans, by oxidizing the surface to create a permanent breathing system. However, due to the size of the Moon and the goal of the program, it would take several decades before Ambrosia is fit for colonization.
